Barry has been interested in the natural world since a young age spending summers exploring nearby woods and ponds and always trying to absorb as much as possible from observation
and books on nature and history. In his early 20's Barry came to possess a ten year old Canon FTQL 35mm SLR camera. It has been a graduated interest ever since. The books by Freeman Patterson were an early influence, as a Canadian and Nature photographer, seeing and appreciating the abstracts provided by nature and allowing the eye to look, see, and appreciate colours and patterns in nature.
Spending a great many years canoeing lakes and rivers in Ontario always packing 'the gear' in hopes of capturing those inevitable moments of inspiration..and now appreciating one need not go far for such inspiration.
